On March 10, 2016, the Indonesian President issued President Regulation number 21 of 2016 regarding Visits Without Visa. The New Regulation increases the amount of countries for which residents are allowed to enter Indonesia without a visa to 169 countries.

Under the New regulation, The following purposes of visit are allowed for the 169 countries:

  • Leisure / tourism
  • Family visits
  • Social
  • Art and cultural
  • Government visits
  • Giving lectures or attend seminars
  • Meetings held by the Head Office or Representative Office in Indonesia

The requirement for Free Visa to Bali

To Apply free visa, your passport have to be valid at least 6 months until the last period you are in Bali. If your passport expiration date is less than 6 months you need to extend it before you arriving. You also need to be able to show the your return or trough flight ticket. The free visa is valid for 30 Days stay Permit. Not Extendable and Can not be converted into another type of stay permit. If you stay more than 30 Days, You can purchased visa on arrival at the immigration center at Bali Airport. You will be charged USD 35.

How To apply for Visa on Arrival at Bali airport?

  1. Complete Your document

    You passport expiration date at least 6 months and show your Return or trough ticket

  2. Find the immigration counter at Airport

    Queue at Visa on Arrival Counter in Airport Arrival hall (before going to immigration counters)

  3. Prepare Cash USD 35 or any other major currencies

    Pay USD 35 (AUD, IDR, EUR also accepted)

  4. Show your passport at Immigration Counter

    Go to immigration counter and show your passport and your return or trough flight ticket and you all set

Once you arrived in Bali, You may need a couple minutes queue at Immigration center, There will be more time you need to wait for applying the Visa. Then need more time to Claim your baggage. The whole process may take up to 40 – 60 Minutes. Therefore, You may don not wants to get stressed to negotiate with taxi to drive you to your hotel immediately.
